So, there is a need for converting the different vehicle classes to one common standard vehicle unit. Therefore it is necessary to determine or to assign equivalency factors for different classes of vehicles. It is a common practice to consider the passenger car as the standard vehicle unit to convert the other vehicle classes and this unit is called ' Passenger Car Unit' (P.C.U).
